What the title says. Curious if this is considered repairable even though it’s small in size (it measures a little less than a dime). My insurance will cover it if it’s repairable and if it’s not I have to file a claim and hit my $500 deductible. It won’t cost that much to replace the windshield so I would have to pay out of pocket at that point. Also do you think it’s safe to take through car wash ?

As long as it’s stable and doesn’t start spreading, you can keep driving with a crack like this for years.
you should be able to get that filled. you can buy the kit and do it yourself, but you need to follow the instructions to the letter otherwise the fill will pop out in short time. you can also take it to a glass repair shop and have them do it for you.
i have a similar size hit in my windshield glass. it’s been like that for 7 years and luckily has not caused a crack propagation. can’t say for certain if you will or won’t be as lucky. toyota tends to use high quality glass
Yes, it is repairable. Yes, you can take it to a car wash. Source – I get many of these every year living in rural AZ 😕
It looks fixable but let an expert do it. Check with your insurance what your deductible is for something like this. It’s sometimes different than a traditional claim.
I just repaired one like this on my car. You can get a kit online or there are companies that can do it professionally.
I would recommend fixing it rather than just leaving it. Water and dirt can get into the crack and with temperature changes it can cause the cracks to grow. A repair will fill the voids with a resin and will stabilise it.
Had one slightly bigger. Called to get it filled but told to big need to replace. Waited till after winter and it’s a full crack across the entire bottom.
