Turks moved ships across land in Istanbul when Bosporus was blocked by Byzantines to stop naval attacks (See the red line with boats)

So why don’t we use their legendary fucking engineering again on the Strait of Hormuz? Just drag the oil tankers across land, easy as fuck

In exchange, we will kindly ask Daddy Trump to send a gazillion dollars into Turkish stocks and launch them straight to the moon 📈🚀

    1. I went balls deep on Turkish Airlines last week which is an oil sensitive stock so I’m willing to help.

It’s being done over land for dry goods. Source: I buy product made in Bahrain. Logistics aside, it’s status quo for now.

    3. They should build a canal! It will be the best greatest canal ever built, no one will have ever seen anything like it.

What if we build a launch pad and use rockets to launch the oil around the world.

    5. The problem is not “getting through the strait”

The problem is ” the strait is  within striking distance”

So any solution still within striking distance is bad

I fell asleep about two thirds of the way through “Fitzcarraldo,” but I assume everything turned out all right in the end

This is stupid. The smart idea is to build a Hormuz Canal so ships can sail through it, like the Suez.

America doesn’t even need oil from the middle east. We have oil all over our country.

I cant tell if youre trolling but someone did the napkin math in another post somewhere of how many trucks it would take utilize land vehicle transportation.

The rough numbers was something like 120,000 trucks

For reference amazon only has ~60,000 and it took them about 3-4 years to scale to that volume across the entire US.

Time isnt the only issue its a physical space issue – at 60,000 its already very common to see these trucks across the entirety of the US. You think we can take double that volume and put it in a country thats as big texas plus some states? We’re not even talking roads yet

Its either pipelines or trains. I dont know how trains fair in a desert climate so probably gonna have to be pipes. Across that span of distance without many roads? Yeeeesh good luck

    10. Even better, everyone from WSB get together in a looooong line and pass the oil down one 5-gallon bucket at a time. I’m going to call it: “Diamond Hands Across Dubai”!

Somebody said don’t forget my sauce again and I think that’s going to be the new phrase with the fries in bag
