Hey guys, I've been looking into JSW (Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa), the biggest coking coal producer in the EU. It seems like a classic "hated" stock, but the data is getting interesting:
- Short Interest: According to some reports, it's around 7- 8%, with several big funds (Qube, Marshall Wace) officially in the KNF register.
- The Catalyst: They just closed a deal to sell two subsidiaries for over 1 billion PLN (~$250M) to fix liquidity issues.
- Valuation: Trading at a massive discount to book value (P/B around 0.55).
I'm trying to figure out the Days to Cover and how thin the order book is. If a buyback or a positive earnings surprise happens, could this trigger a squeeze?
Not a financial advice, just doing my homework. Thanks!
Can anyone help calculate the short squeeze potential for $JSW (WSE)?

I am no expert in stocks. But I believe if you don’t even know how to calculate the risk, you really should not touch it.
Hey ChatGPT, create a Reddit post which asks about the likelihood of an obscure stock (that I absolutely do not hold lots of) experiencing a short squeeze to FOMO people into buying said stock, and driving the price up, and therefore the likelihood of the squeeze occuring.
