Hi guys, seeking advice. I used Metamask to swap USDT to ETH. The quote showed 0.2% fees, which I didn't question since I needed it fast. After the swap processed, I checked and got exactly 1.7% less than I should have. This was six figures so we're talking serious money lost.
I know it's probably gone but what the hell? The quote was misleading, execution was nowhere near what was shown. How is this even legal?
Anyone been in this situation? Any way to complain or get clarity? Or just take the L and never use Metamask swaps again? FCK METAMASK. Advice appreciated.

son who use metamask in 2026 ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜?
Did you set the slippage? By default it’s set to 2%
Fees don’t include slippage.
Saddest case I saw was someone using a DEX to make a swap in a pool with very low liquidity. The value of his coins was about $17k. He wanted to swap it for USDT. When he put in the order he got a warning that he would receive $15 of USDT. Not $15k, just $15. He said later that he didn’t believe that was possible so he signed the transaction and received $15 for his coins. He wanted to speak to the manager.
Learned a lesson about slippage and liquidity buddy. Why the fuck would anyone swap 6 figs in one clip? That’s on you, metamask didn’t steal from you. The slippage got it, and the LPs ate. Next time you go to swap 6 figs, do it in place that has the liquidity to give you a fair trade. MM is a wallet, not CEX, and routes trade through DEX liquidity pools. You’re lucky you didn’t swap into an LP with no liquidity and lose the whole thing. 1.7% slippage ain’t shit. It’s actually a pretty good deal in DeFi.
