My dad set up an account and needs my information for this app. It requires a pic and my license. Is this safe for my public record? I read that it can mess with your record. I don’t have any idea what my dad is doing with this. Is there a chance something can happen to my record if he’s not doing it right?

Hi u/EstateZealousideal98,
Thanks for reaching out your concerns are completely valid.
Kraken account verification may require personal details along with a photo of a valid ID (such as a driver’s license) and, in some cases, a face photo. This information is used strictly to verify the identity of the person opening and using the account, and it does not create or affect any kind of public record, such as a criminal record.
That said, it’s very important that only the person who will own and use the account submits their own information and documents. Sharing your ID or personal details for someone else’s account can be risky and may lead to misuse. If the account is in your name, you would be responsible for any activity on it.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions we’re here to help.
