I don’t know any way to look at this other than to say USA is losing this war.
Before this war, trade in the Persian Gulf was wide open to everyone, except we had sanctions on Iran so they were limited to dark fleets trade.
We attacked Iran thinking we could quickly gain control of Iran, and therefore all the oil trade in the gulf, and use that as leverage over China.
Instead, Iran exerted their control over the gulf and has completely shut down oil trade to us and our allies, and now we are so desperate to get oil flowing to our allies we lifted the sanctions on Iran so they could supply to them.
I mean this is embarrassing. Unless there’s some kind of deal we’re not aware of where the money isn’t all going to Iran, then this is just 100% capitulation to Iran.
