All my investments are long run, except for 2 (SLS) and (HGRAF) (these are just fun stocks to add some risk to my portfolio.

But honestly the rest of my investments are very safe, diverse, and I don’t plan on selling any time soon.

However, I feel that I am just stupid for not investing in a global ETF perhaps? Why should I not just put my whole portfolio in to an ETF, are there any downsides, and are there any really safe ones?

I know if I set aside a significant amount of money and put it in to an ETF, then I should have very good returns in 30 years or so. Makes me wander if I am completely wasting headspace and stressing myself out for no reason investing.

I think if there is a world when I can just work, and put a percentage of my income in to an ETF every so often, and get a stable 8% + return I’d be delighted, but am I delusional thinking this would be easy?

Sorry if this seems like a long winded question but it’s just something that plays on my mind as a relatively young investor.

Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

    1. There’s no such thing as a stable 8%+ return

But yes, the whole point of ETFs is you invest and then check back in 20 years

      Yes, that is delusional.
