Looking for tips on insurance claim. Ohio has catastrophic winds 10 days ago, with significant damage to my roof. There is damage to 6 or 7 slopes. Adjuster came out and claims only one slope was caused by wind, per his determination of wind direction. However, there was winds from almost every direction over the course of a few days. Talking 90 phone winds. Adjuster did not thoroughly inspect the damage. in fact he spent 5 mins on a massive roof. Collateral damage all over. They state they will fix one slope, not replace. multiple roofing companies come out and say they are crazy that this is something they cannot believe. Asked for reinspection due to overwhelming amount of overlooked damage which they denied. What are the next steps, we have damage all over the area, its so widespread and them raising deductible to 1% of the value its causing nothing to be paid. Not sure what to do in this case.

What insurance company is it? How old is the roof? When you say wind damage are you talking missing and/or creased shingles or something else?
You’re gonna have to escalate. Appeal internally, mitigate further damage the best you can, if it comes to it you may have to seek representation from either a public adjuster or an attorney if your insurer continues to play games.
