I thought I was applying for a Walmart credit card. Turns out it is actually OnePay which has a "partnership" with Walmart. When you link the card to your Walmart wallet that's how you get the 5% cash back. Only they make it hard to retrieve the cash back. The most annoying thing is that they send you an unsolicited active debit card in addition to the credit card. I have no interest in a debit card and so I froze it. However when I attempted to redeem my cashback, it went to the debit card. Previously I had managed to redeem my cashback as a credit on my rewards card, but the site is so user unfriendly that it's hardly worth the trouble to make a project of it every time. And now that the cash is in my debit card, I guess I'll have to unfreeze it to get the money. They do have an option to move it but the only option is to move it to a OnePay saving account.
I am entirely uninterested in using OnePay as a banking ecosystem. I would just like a simple cash back credit card that doesn't try to trick you into using additional unwanted services. I might just stop using this one. Are most people who get this card using all the banking features?
OnePay is almost too complex to be worth it

I’m still sour about Walmart buying out One, it was such a cool little neobank before Walmart bought and totally overhauled it
I haven’t applied for the card yet, but have used OnePay for a couple of years. If its anything like the debit card:
– In the app, I click on Wallet
– In the top right corner I click the button with pts in green text
– Redeem
– It goes to my OnePay debit pocket
– I click on Cash Control
– Move money
– To another bank
– Type the amount, choose the bank, decline the instant transfer option, done
No, I don’t see any point in using their fintech for banking, although it’s a slightly quicker alternative to Wal-Mart pay in store (both are basically Wal-Mart pay anyway). I needed to have the account for gig work
I redeem my points as cashback towards the balance. Does it not give you that option at all?
