I'm getting ready to switch to a different carrier, and logged into Verizon to get a PIN to transfer service. I immediately got an offer to get a 25% discount on my service for one year. I'm still saving more by switching (and need to switch for compatibility reasons with a new type of phone) but wish I had thought to try this a year ago when I was starting to get annoyed with the price.

Are you me? I literally did this over the weekend with Verizon and just officially switched to the new carrier today. Same exact situation.
I kept asking for a change in price for my plan to what was being advertised on their website, $55/month for the exact same plan, they couldn’t do it so I said forget that and started the process to switch. Then they offered a 25% discount. They should have done that initially and I probably wouldn’t have switched but by the time I got the 25% offer I was already so annoyed.
