Southwest Rapid Rewards Cards – Timing to link to rewards account?

I’m flying Southwest next Tuesday (in 6 days). I’d like the free checked bag and seat upgrade from the Premier or Priority cards. But the official text says it can take up to 14 days to link card member status to your rewards account. Has this been your experience? If it’s unlikely it would link in time I’d rather wait to get a better in-flight SUB offer. Thanks for your time.
