Every week I try to do something to save money. Groceries are one of the biggest costs and one item to try to save money. I watch the meat dates at Aldi and try to pop in first thing the day before the dates on the package are up. They mark them down at the register for me. Also, I am trying to reduce my mileage at work as they take out mileage to the office and return home from the last patient daily. I work from home and have to travel to see patients in their homes. I am trying to end the day closer to home. And they haven’t increased the mileage rate with the increased gas prices. What is your frugal win for the week?

marked down ribeye from the grocery clearance section and my dog ate the leftover bones so zero food waste this week.

Cancelled all of my streaming services and switched to IPTV. Get everything I had and more for $16/month now

    3. 10-pound spiral hams are on sale this week or a ridiculous price. Will be snapping one up; freezing most of it; and having cheap meat available for sandwiches, soups, and casseroles for a few months. 🙂

I took my mom to run an errand. I wanted so bad to get a chick-fil-a sandwich but I went home and ate leftovers.

    5. I usually cash out my accumulated Meijer store loyalty points for free groceries. 10k points = $10 of groceries.

But also 10k points = $1 off a gallon of gas. So we emptied the spare gas cans in the shed into my car, then filled up the truck and the cans, paid $2.89 per gallon and saved $27.

I know that was the going rate very recently, but it still felt good to know we don’t have to pay the crazy price for a month or so, maybe more.

    6. One practical win for me this week was bringing a water bottle and coffee from home instead of buying drinks when I was out. It’s such a small thing, but skipping those random purchases adds up quickly.

I also cooked a bigger meal once and used the leftovers for lunch the next day, which saved both money and time.

My first week unthawing meat from the freezer. I know it sounds dumb but I recently got a vacuum sealer and I don’t realize I was freezing meat wrong this whole time.
