Given the petroleum and natural gas supply struggles of late due to the middle eastern conflict, will this renew the vision of a petroleum free future? The underlying premise of five years ago were the environmental issues associated with petroleum. But now, there is the overlay of fuel availability for the long run.

I can see home buyers specifying heat pumps, and auto buyers going away from pure IC models to hybrids and EVs. And utilities in key parts of the world outside the USA using renewables and nuclear as their baseload generation capacity, with fossil fuel generation for peak demand only.

I sense this will have long term consequences for energy related stocks on both sides of the fence.

    1. I see a lot of if when thinking of fossil fuel and renewable energy. But in a best case scenario, it’s still a high risk medium reward situation. I would rather invest in S&P before betting on fossil or renewable energy. I could rethink this if there’s an emerging stock with better technology than anyone else. Not an advice do your own research.
