I realized I was spending way too much on games, skins and subscriptions… so I made a simple way to track where my money actually goes.
At first I thought it would be boring, but it turned out to be pretty eye-opening. Some months I was spending way more than I expected, especially on small purchases that add up over time.
Now I can actually see everything in one place and it helps me control it better.
Curious if anyone else tracks their gaming expenses or just ignores it?
How much do you think you spend on games per month?

$0.00
Like, maybe 5 bucks a month. I don’t buy video games that often. I’m not often looking forward to new releases or anything. I just bought Slay the Spire 2 and that’s the first time I bought a new game since Hades 2 was in Early Access..
$0, unless I buy a new Xbox game
You’re paying? 🏴☠️
$0
Like eight dollars unless I’m ready to spoi’ maself
Per month as is my total cost per year divided by 12, right?
I only buy games very cheap on the big steam sales. I bet I spend about $150 a year.
I don’t buy outside summer/winter deals unless it’s a game I really want to play but even then I put a $30 cap.
spending monthly on games is crazy
On average…$10 per month? I don’t really play videos games, but I *love* board games (my username is even a reference to Dominion). But board games can easily be shared, so I don’t have to buy that many, since I can play others’ games.
I spent less than $250 all of last year. 90% of the games I buy are less than $10, I keep my wishlist up to date and check it every sale!
$100-130 usd in electric usage
$0. I play 2 games a day on Reddit, and I play 3 NYT games a day, and occasionally I play Free Tetris. That’s it.
0 dollars
I know my teenage sons spend some money on gaming though.
Im on steam, and I mainly wait for the 75-90% off sales, or deals on humblebundle, fanatical, gmg, gog. (this month, only spent $6 on COD Modern Warfare 2019)
back in college years, I averaged $10-15 a month. now, it can range from $0 to $20. rarely do I spend $30-60 on a game unless I know it will be worth it (Red Dead Redemption 2, Half-Life Alyx)
