Hello,
I just got the AAdvantage citi Globe Mastercard and I’m kinda having doubts. I want to build airline loyalty with AA since that’s the biggest hub for my airport. I went to book my international flight and it was way more expensive than I expected and having to pay for the extra for main cabin so I can get trip protection and checked bag price included. If I’m planning on traveling 2-3x a yr and one of those international, is this credit card worth it? I will not fly business or first class, just regular economy. How can I make sure I get the full worth of this credit card? I also have the chase sapphire.
Thank you for your advice!

You got the card, damage done. Get the Sub. Check out how much flight prices cost in points, particularly international flights on partner airlines (not BA, high fees into/out of LHR). After a year downgrade to the platinum, or better yet get the platinum for its own SUB and downgrade the Globe to the MileUp or Strata Premier to earn more AA points.
I got the Globe for the 90k mile SUB and plan to downgrade to MileUp after one year. The card benefits are not enough to justify the AF, but definitely worth it to grab 90k miles.
I wouldn’t book on AA metal for international flights. AA miles still follow fixed award chart with no fuel surcharges with their partners, barring BA/LHR.
