It seems like a lot of people are social media addicts. How many more lawsuits will there be against META? It seems endless. But the rub is, if the addiction aspect of these platforms is shut down, how much are the companies worth?

Not to mention way too many elderly individuals are being hit with scams on META's platforms and they are doing little to curb it. How long before those lawsuits emerge?

The entire company model is built on addiction and they have known how it effects brains for a long time.

If the addiction elements of social media platforms has to be curtailed, what are the companies worth?

Might as well sue Netflix, Porn, OnlyFans, Alcohol, Food Companies, Video Game Companies, Dating Apps (Tinder, Hinge), Sports Gambling Companies, Stock Trading Apps, AI chatbots, YouTube, Twitter. The cans of worms they just opened is slippery. They just go for the biggest target which is Zuck.

these companies are literally worth nothing except as advertising platforms. so theres your answer. if we as a society decide that addictive applications on your phone whose only purpose is to trick you into scrolling by infinite ads, most of which are outright scams or harmful woowoo nonsense, then the monetary value of these companies is $0. theres a reason why until web 2.0 took off forums and chatrooms cost the people hosting them money. a space to chat with your friends is worth a lot to the individual using them and worth negative money to everybody else
