When to take out a loan for Fall 2026 semester?

Hi – I’m new to this subreddit and was wondering if anyone had general advice on when to apply for private loans before this fall semester? I’m still deciding between grad schools and have until April 15th. Is it normal to start applying right after then, or wait until the summer when August/September is closer?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!!
