      If they close Mendab, that’s another 10% of global oil supply off the table. That would be the worst oil crisis ever in terms of cumulative percentage of world supply taken away. Inflation adjusted, oil got to $160-170 in the late 70s. This should be fairly comparable, if not worse, though a lot of things have changed (i.e., US huge producer). Of course for an economy that just spent massively on data centers that suck energy, this could get even more rough.
