What's the purpose of your next card? My CC journey has been kind of a mess. Started with CB cards and last July decided I wanted to explore travel cards and got the CSP. The reality though is that I don't travel enough to make it really worth it, and most of the travel I do is via car. That's what led me to get the Fidelity card in January. My plan is to downgrade the CSP to the OG Freedom Visa card after the AF hits in July/August. Currently I'm trying to find cards to expand my category spend since currently basically everything is going on the Fidelity card. I'm not necessarily planning to apply to a new card ASAP, but just wanted to get peoples thoughts on what are some easy no AF ways to branch out my and cover more things with elevated categories, or if it's even worth it. I feel like my monthly spend is pretty light.

Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Amex BCE, Citi Custom Cash, AAA Daily Advantage (though I heard Walmart is being removed from their 5% category?)

Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? I'm looking for a category spend card. I'm using the Fidelity card as my catch all card currently.

The difference between 5% cashback and 2% cashback on $40000 annual spend (roughly half of your gross income, so this would be quite a lot of spend…) is $1200 in additional cashback. Is this worth your time spent to optimize and think about every time you swipe your card?
