The “Bitcoin uses as much energy as a small country” fud. It’s not a lie, but Bitcoin mining uses stranded energy. It’s doesn’t compete against higher economic use cases for energy, it fills in the gaps, stabilizing grid demand (which allows them to grow larger), and monetizing stranded energy.
