I'm looking to move to California soon from the PNW. I own a 2023 Indian Springfield, have no accidents or claims on my record, and the only ticket I have is for expired tags. I'm 30, valid license all my life, been riding for 4 years.
I currently pay approximately $650 a year for coverage including comp, collision, etc. Every time I get a quote using my new address in California, they're asking for $2400+ for the exact same coverage. I'm moving to a small town, not LA or the Bay Area.
Is this just what's normal for California?

All rates are high in CA, it’s a very litigeous state with a great deal of government regulation.
Yeah, when I rode, I was living in California paying 250 a month for my insurance. Moved to Nevada and I write people insurance policies for their bikes that are sometimes as low as $400 for the year.
