Looking for the best overall credit cards, preferably in the form of cash back. I’ve been desperately needing to switch to better options for a while!

• Discover It ($8,700 limit)
FICO Score: 775
Oldest account age: 8yrs
Income: $150,000
Top 12mo spend categories (highest to lowest)
• Shopping/Merchandise
• Groceries
• Bills/Utilities
• Gas
• Food/drink
• Services
• Other
I’ve looked at the Chase Freedom Unlimited, Costco Citi, and AMEX Gold. I’m indifferent on category vs general spending
Other info:
• Must have a visa or citi card to shop at Costco.
• Full balance paid off monthly.
• Shopping is only top category due to recent home purchase.
• Spend a couple grand annually on certifications and subscriptions for work.
Primary vendors:
• Grocery: local, Walmart, Costco
• Gas: QT, Casey’s, Loves
• Shopping: Amazon, target, local, Costco
• Travel: Southwest, Marriott, Avis
• Infrequent hotel (<25 nights/yr)
• Quarterly airfare
• No international
• Got southwest card back when I was traveling weekly for a previous job but not the case anymore.

If you’re doing a lot of business spend on shipping, I’d consider the ink preferred for that. Also no ftf, travel protections, and questionable primary cdw “for business purposes.”
For the rest of it, I’d probably consider bread rewards.
3% gas groceries dining and utilities, boosting to 3.75% if you make 20 transactions per month on the card.
Prolly pair that with a fidelity visa for 2% flat, secondary cdw, and no ftf.
If you want one card, it needs to be a VISA for Costco. The Citi Costco card has some nice travel perks but doesn’t actually give you the best deal when shopping there and the annual cash back redemption is a drag.
The **AAA Daily Advantage** card would give you 5x on groceries and 3x on gas and wholesale clubs up to $500/year and 1x catchall. Otherwise, the **Fidelity Rewards** card is unlimited 2x on everything.
