Iran is drafting a “Hormuz Law” to introduce tolls for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. This is a tax on every consumer at the gas pump globally.

Great. From free unrestricted passage to paying a toll every pass. Thank you very much Trump

At this point I wouldn’t blame the whole world if they all ganged up on the US. I just hope they know the majority of citizens don’t support any of this.

    3. This just pushes oil closer to its long term collapse that will destroy the middle east.

China pushing EVs and once the EU/USA have more EVs oil will not have the value it does today.

    4. Why would Iran be able to enforce this but not Qatar?

Edit; fuck sakes wrong country, sorry. Oman/United Arab Emirates.

This has been the Iranian dream for decades. Trump just gave them the ethical cover to actually implement the dream AND the international community is reluctant to help out right now because no one want to be associated with Trump, the bombing of schools, the destruction of civilian infrastructure and the constant Trump bullying stupidity.

Trump’s blunder here has only made the theocratic ruling regime stronger and more entrenched and the opposition has gone into hiding for the fear of being associated with Trump.

    6. So what trump put a tax on everything comming in HE mad Iran gonna play the same game 🤣

Be sure to Thank BOTH Trump and MAGA for this additional tax every time you fill up at the pump…

Are ships able to pass through the gulf without entering Iranian territorial waters?

    9. “This is a tax on every consumer” lol you don’t think they manipulated the market before?

The direct cost of the war so far, is over a billion per day, and is a cost to every taxpayer. The indirect costs may be far greater.

    11. I don’t understand how America’s oil ended up underneath all these Middle East countries

    12. It’s a tax on the gcc not on the world. The price of the barrel of oil is not directly correlated with the cost of producing it.

Thanks trump for an answer to the question nobody asked, namely how can one man’s incompetence make the world a significantly shittier place?

Come back next week, same question different answer!

Lacking anything that inspires hope, I get by absurdism and morbid fascination.

I don’t understand how this waterway is under Iranian control. I don’t see this ending well for Iran. I can see a major dredging operation coming soon in the UAE carving a new waterway channel bypassing Hormuz. Makes total sense.

    15. Trump: “We’re gonna win so much, you may even get tired of winning. And you’ll say, ‘Please, please. It’s too much winning. We can’t take it anymore, Mr. President, it’s too much.’ And I’ll say, ‘No it isn’t. We have to keep winning. We have to win more!’”

Can’t wait until this is behind us and we’ve brought democracy to them. /s

A VLCC carries about 2 million barrels of crude. A 2 million dollar transit fee would add a dollar a barrel to the price of cheapest to produce oil in the world. If that’s all, I think we’re getting off easy.

This is why energy independence is so important for a nation so they don’t have to be beholden to a small choke point river to rely on for their economy.

Solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear are the future for energy and it’s something every nation does not have to constantly transfer from one part of the world to another.

Inb4 Trump says yes, as long as his newly created entity- Trumps “strategic toll enforcement and logistics (STEAL)” – that will be owned and operated by the trump foundation in perpetuity gets a cut.

Honestly, i dont know if this is a good idea for them. The way history plays out, western countries wont like this and will invade.
