I just got an email that I will have to start paying my student loans (ed financial) in May. and OMG the payments are gnarly. It’s 657.92 MONTHLY.

Do I need to call and let them know I haven’t found a job yet!? I literally cannot afford that one bit.

My payments are coming out of deferment. Help!

    3. They have do have economic hardship deferment. Best to call them and let them know what going on and if they can put you on economic hardship deferment. * An economic hardship deferment is a temporary pause on federal student loan payments (up to 3 years) for borrowers facing severe financial, health, or military-related difficulties. During this time, interest does not accrue on subsidized loans. Borrowers must contact their loan servicer to apply and provide income documentation. It granted in 12-month increments, up to a maximum of 36 months total. That maybe something to look into.
