Now outside of actually applying and getting declined, it’s such a hassle to get any Citi card. 742 with $80k/yr (as of right now) and I applied for 3 cards: one in January and 2 in February (same hard inquiry) and my volatility is too high. Those are my only inquiries in the last 6 months. Now I’m just sitting here waiting to be the perfect patron to get this strata card.

I have qualms I simply want to rant. I decided not to get the SW card with companion pass so I could get this strata card. Maybe it was wrong or maybe it was worth it. Won’t know until I get it. Thoughts?

I mean, applying for 5 cards in less than a couple months will throw some red flags up at the bank. Take the L and move on

    2. If you want the card, slow down your churning. If churning is more important to you (nothing wrong with that) then accept citi approval odds trending to 0 until you slow down your velocity. Even then if you get too deep into the game and have hella accounts thats gonna make it hard even if you dont have many recent inquiries at that point. Overall the people that I think get out the best with CCs generally treat it like a marathon not a sprint. (1 card every 3-6 months or so and being deliberate about their annual fees) But i get wanting to get as many bonuses as possible.

Ok but what do the denial letters say? If you’re applying with the same profile to Citi and expecting the results to differ, I have some oil to sell you.
