Is it me or are banks not giving decent credit limits like before?
In 2025 January I opened 2 new credit card accounts and the credit limits were 10k and 9k. I just opened a new card last weekend and was only given 2500 credit limit. Does anybody know what's going on?
Are credit limits going down?

No, it just depends on your credit profile and the company issuing the card
Well how much do you make?
Nope. ~$250K combined limits across 9 cards.
It seems like everyone spends a lot more than I do. I’ve never had a credit limit I thought was unreasonable, but they’re also lower than what everyone here complains about.
Chase lowered my Freedom Flex from $6300 to $3150. They’ve had several crappy quarters of bonus categories so it got sock drawered for quite a while lol
Given I just got a $20k limit on my Venture X, no
the funniest cl i have is the cap one savor card. it’s $1k. i make decent money and have a handful of cards open. i have a $36k limit on another card. they have their reasons, I’m not complaining.
