Possible to apply for new card after closing?

Hello, I want to apply for the AMEX Platinum card, but I have some questions concerning another account I closed a few years ago, before I realized the repercussions of closing an account lol.

I used to have the AMEX gold skymiles card from delta, after they raised the annual fee a few years back I decided I didn't get good enough use out of it and closed the account rather than just downgrading the account to a no fee card ( I know I wish I had just done that but I didn't) Now I am on active military orders and want to get the platinum card with no fees if I can, but am wondering if anyone has any advice on if I will actually get approved should I apply for it now? for context its been about 2 years since I closed the account. My credit score is around 750 if that helps.
