Iran's president, Masoud Pezeshkian, reportedly reiterated that the Middle Eastern country is ready to end the war but would need guarantees.

The statement comes a day after President Donald Trump said he was prepared to wind down the military campaign against the country within weeks.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump told aides he is willing to end hostilities on a four-to-six-week timeline, prioritizing the degradation of Iran’s navy and missile stocks over the more complex mission of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

The Iran conflict started at the end of February, when the U.S. and Israel hit the country and also killed the then Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei.

Iran had then launched retaliatory strikes on different regions in the Middle East, including Qatar and the UAE.

    1. Well that’s just not true lol, Iran is literally prepping to hit US infrastructure across the middle east tomorrow….

    2. But has anyone asked Trumps other boss, Bibi what he thinks? War is good for his two bosses; Putin and the other dipshit.

    3. ToddlerPeePee on

Fake news again. Trump really tries everything to stop the oil price, haha. This dip is a gift for me to buy oil at a lower price. How many times are people falling for this same shit over and over again? It’s just the same shit in different packaging, lol.

Once Europe and US have a fuel shortage, the Trump administration will start to understand that manipulating oil futures will not make real physical oil appear out of thin air.

This is algo manipulation, if you’re not an idiot, you know to short the news.

    5. Feels like every headline swings sentiment instantly. One minute escalation, next minute talks of peace.

    6. suprachromat on

What’s hilarious about this is the Iranian president has zero power, its the IRGC in charge and they are hardliners that don’t want to stop. This changes literally nothing. The market is full of people that don’t understand the dynamics in Iran like at all, lmao. This isn’t over until the Strait opens and normal shipping flow resumes, full stop.

    7. CanadianAbroad7 on

Iranian president stated he wants the war to end.

However, “In Iran’s political structure, the President holds significant administrative power but is strictly subordinate to the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in all matters of national security and strategic policy.”

So, nothing burger. Market pumping off false hope.

    8. HealingDailyy on

So… absolutely nothing was accomplished and he actually made things worse. Got it. So much winning!

    9. Prestigious-Worry-14 on

Iran could and would end the war today!

Trump would just have to accept the terms of surrender… Terms like never holding a base in the middle east again (they are all destroyed due to Trumps extremely weak leadership) as well as compensation for the 600+ schools we blew up during the (war crime) carpet bombing of civilians.

    10. CoC_Axis_of_Evil on

Israel is going to keep their aggression going against Iran in all scenarios, so Trump can say all he wants but he can’t control his own proxy, which calls into question the proxy status.

    11. this is clearly algo pumping; both sides have already made demands, now we’re running up on “OMG PEACE IF DEMANDS ARE MET”? really?

    12. tysnowboards on

Feels like we’ve had a few war might end soon headlines already. I’d wait for something concrete before getting too bullish.

    13. He has always said he wants peace but guarantee too …

He knows US was not prepared enough for this war, and he knows Trump can come again next year after buying some bomb …

The only real guarantee to avoid the war with US : getting the nuke. Look north korea, they are in peace …

    14. Thank you to all of you redditors that panic sold the stone cold bottom of this two-week long generational recession. May your cash accounts generate enough dollar bills to wipe away the tears before you all FOMO back in after a 3% plus day.

    15. LOL What the hell is going on with market reacting on the old now twisted news. Shows how desperate US is. This is insanity.

    16. SloppyMeathole on

Is anyone paying attention to the fact that Israel will never agree to the conditions? I bet they respond to this offer by bombing the shit out of Iran in the next 12 hours, maybe blow up another orphanage, because Israel is leading this war, Trump is just following.

Israel will not stop until either Iran is a failed State or we pull our support for Israel. Which one do you think will happen first with this administration?

    17. This is the result of putting a market-manipulating dotard in a position of power, and allowing yes-men to advise him.

If you aren’t one of his confidantes, you’re screwed(if you *are* part of the in-crowd, you’ll get fabulously wealthy)

    18. Candid-Elk6135 on

So…the US is accumulating troops amassing 50K now just to turn back and go home? I highly doubt that. Something stinks.

    19. The market pumping 2.5% on this is pure hopium and anyone with a basic understanding of Iranian politics knows it.

Pezeshkian is the president of Iran, but in their system the president is roughly equivalent to a mid-level manager on foreign policy. The IRGC controls the military, controls the strait, and controls whether this war continues. Pezeshkian publicly apologized for Gulf state strikes and had to retract it within hours after IRGC pressure. He does not control the lever that matters here.

The only signal that would actually justify a 2.5% rally is if Mojtaba Khamenei or the IRGC command council explicitly offered terms. Instead we have the civilian president restating the same position from two weeks ago and algos treating recycled headlines as breaking news.

Here is the actual situation as I understand it: the IRGC has discovered that operating a toll booth on Hormuz effectively doubles Iran’s GDP. They have zero incentive to give that up in exchange for vague “guarantees” from an administration that tore up the last deal. The strait stays closed or tolled until someone offers Iran something worth more than the toll revenue, and right now nobody is even close to that number.

      Short the rally.

    20. How many times will this market continue falling for this blatant manipulation 🤣

    21. Significant-Dog-8166 on

Oh poor Masoud, he doesn’t really get much of a say here. Some mullahs with missiles are calling the shots on his side and he’s “negotiating” with people that aren’t exactly clear on being interested in letting ANY of those mullahs exist.

Until America either sets those troops on the ground OR packs it up and leaves, all talks are just performative.

    22. Really after all that and you want to end the war ??? No retaliation for your country?? What a loser 😔😔😔😔

    23. Desperate-Hearing-55 on

Putin send 100 000 troops to Ukraine border just for military exercise.
Trump send 50 000 troops to Middle East just to want end war.
      Yeah sure.
