Iranian President Pezeshigian stated that Iran has no intention of provoking a war, but is willing to end the conflict provided it is assured it will no longer be attacked. Pezeshigian described the military actions of the United States and Israel as unprecedented crimes and violations of international law, noting that Iran had engaged in good-faith negotiations prior to the attacks. He also noted that countries hosting U.S. military bases failed to prevent those bases from being used to launch attacks against Iran. Pezeshigian pointed out that halting aggression is the way forward, and that Iran is willing to end the conflict if security guarantees are provided; he urged Europe to abandon its current approach and called for professional cooperation in accordance with international law.

    1. There is no international law.

Actually let me rephrase it – a law that can’t be enforced isn’t really a law.

Is this copy and pasted from some article lmao.

Also you are late, this was hours ago and as I have repeated the president there doesn’t have much power

I’m not a stock guy but this sub shows on my feed a lot . You guys sure are swayed a lot by words when the reality is showing different

    4. Is this strong rebound in the room with us now?

The markets are the highest they’ve been since… Thursday

    5. Iran did not signal a ceasefire. Is the US waiting for Iran to stop being attacked?

Fake news already debunked by Iran side. Seems like Trump trying to manipulate the oil futures down. The problem with that is futures can’t give you real physical oil. This is bullish for oil prices.

    7. If you get rid of the UN Insecurity Council there would be all kinds of possibilities

    8. The Iranian President has no real power in the Iranian hierarchy.

Like when he apologized to the gulf countries for strikes, saying Iran still stop striking gulf countries; the IRGC continued hitting the gulf countries.

The real power is the governing council run by hardliners with the IRGC being the hard power behind it.

I would like to know Iran could be provided a security guarantee. What type of tangible steps could be made to reach this goal? I don’t see anything plausbile.

Iran is going to want the US out of the region but that isn’t going to happen. Promises by Trump aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. After going back on many agreements over his term, nobody will trust anything he says/promises. Certainly Iran would not.

We are so far from any workable resolution to this war. It is clear that the US ceasing the active campaign is not enough for Iran. Iran has gained so much leverage by proving that they can close the strait and there is little the US can do about it without a ground war.

People who think things are going back to normal soon aren’t paying attention, IMO.

But isn’t the news 24 hour old ? And the whole article lista demands . Eg recognise right to bear nuclear weapon , payup for losses of Iran etc etc ?

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like this is up to the Iranian President anymore. The IRGC seems to be calling the military shots and doesn’t seem to be following orders from the President. When he apologized for bombing gulf state countries and vowed that Iran would stop, the IRGC was angry at him for apologizing and started bombing gulf states even more.
