“Companies with market caps ranking within the top 40 members of the Nasdaq 100 will be eligible for inclusion in the index within 15 trading days after an initial public offering”.
So retail investors are just exit opportunities for companies like SpaceX through funds and institutions? Time to get out of QQQ I guess.
Nasdaq rule change for SpaceX?

Yeah, feels like they’re changing the rules to benefit the big players, not us. I’m starting to think diversifying into some real estate might be a better hedge against this kind of market manipulation. At least I can actually *use* a house.
We littles are just exit liquidity for Musk & Friends.
S&P indexes might also be ….adjusted… in a similar manner.
selling all your qqq because nasdaq is updating its rules to catch mega-ipos is a huge overreaction. retail is always the exit liquidity for early vc money, that’s just how the game has always worked. instead of panic selling based on a headline, i just let my private market. if the smart money is actually dumping tech, the data will show it. until then, just hold your qqq and chill.
