so i'm closing on a house in felton (santa cruz mountains) next month and trying to figure out the insurance situation. first time buyer so bear with me lol
Farmer got me a quote but they're saying i need to get fire coverage separately through the fair plan. so that would be two separate policies, two deductibles, two renewal dates… just feels like a mess. the fair plan also has a $20k deductible which is kind of scary for me as a first time buyer.
i've been doing a ton of research and came across delos insurance which apparently writes policies in some high fire risk areas in California. has anyone in felton or anywhere in santa cruz county actually used them? did they cover wildfire directly without needing the fair plan?
also curious about kin insurance – anyone in the 95018 zip code had luck with them?
