The US has a shitty lying administration and Iran has an even shittier lying regime. They’re both lying. What’s happening is they’re sending each other unrealistic demands with zero willingness to compromise. Trump says they’re negotiating while Iran says they’re not because that’s how their respective supporters want it framed. Both sides have defined the war in such a way that they see themselves as “winning”.
