Big Tech meets Big Energy

Microsoft is teaming up with Chevron and Engine No. 1 to secure power supply for the next wave of AI-driven data centers.

The move highlights that AI becomes more a energy instead of a software story.

    Key points:

    • Exclusive agreement for large-scale power generation

    • Focus on natural gas-powered plants near data centers

    • Potential multi-billion dollar project (≈$7B in Texas)

    • Designed to support growing AI infrastructure demand

As AI scales, access to reliable energy becomes a competitive advantage.

What´s the real bottleneck of AI, is it the chips, the business model or the energy?

I watch in a famous podcast these AI data centers are evil. They compete with humans for energy and water so it impacts where they build the data centers. These tech giants need to find a sustainable way than building more machines and robots which slowly replace human civilization
