I’ve been going in circles with insurance after a car accident a few months ago, and I’m starting to wonder when people usually decide to stop handling it on their own. The adjuster keeps coming back with numbers that do not seem to line up with the repair costs, medical bills, and missed time from work, and it has been hard to tell what is normal versus what is just a low offer.
This is my first time dealing with a personal injury side of a claim, so I feel like I’m learning everything the hard way. I get that insurance is not there to make the process easy, but it is tough to know when pushing back yourself still makes sense and when it is smarter to get outside help.
I did talk with Slaughter & Lupton Law at one point, and even just having the process explained more clearly helped me understand what was going on. I’m not really looking for pitches as much as real experiences from people who have dealt with this before. What made you realize it was time to let someone else handle the negotiation side?
At what point do people usually stop handling an accident claim themselves?
