We recently got Progressive and immediately opted out of snapshot (I think is like $20 saving per month)! Seems like an insurance company wanting to know what you do at all times not to mention that the app was installed for just 1 day and it drained our battery badly on iPhone.
I think these should be illegal, what will happen is that people will forget and let the app permissions in place when the program ends giving an insurance company personal information that they can sell for a profit. Since our car is hybrid progressive said that we can only use the app and not the car attachment and giving one app all these permissions seems just off and against anyone that cares about they personal lives.
We ended up completely removing the app (we print the coverage and carry that with us in case we needed). It’s just malware if you ask me!
