Got a speeding ticket when visiting Washington last year. No traffic school available, instead I requested a deferment that the judge approved. It will be wiped so long as I don’t get any more violations over one year.

My insurance rate has gone up and they list a violation. They recommend i pull my record and call the court if it shows. Pulled my record on dmv website and this is all it shows

    LICENSE STATUS:

    VALID*

    DEPARTMENTAL ACTIONS:

    NONE*

    CONVICTIONS:

    VIOL/DT CONV/DT SEC/VIOL DKT/NO DISP COURT VEH/LIC

    UPDATED:07-30-25*

    FAILURES TO APPEAR:

    VIOL/DT SEC/VIOL DKT/NO COURT VEH/LIC

Called the court and they said judge will dismiss it in august and that they believe it should not have been reported or affect my insurance. I wouldn’t say they sounded sure of what they were saying, though.

Not sure what my next move should be, as I assumed a deferment would defer the ticket. Any suggestions?

Do deferred tickets impact insurance rates?
