where I live it's not uncommon to see SFHs that have a shared driveway and a garage split by a common wall. Since the driveway is shared and the overall garage building is too how are these deeded?

What do you mean by shared garages in single-family homes?
It can depend, sometimes things like that are deeded, sometimes not. Sometimes they’re just an easement.
In what you are talking about that’s like a twin home or a duplex, the property line probably runs down the center of the driveway. So no need to put anything in the deed. Everyone’s just supposed to keep to their side of the line.
either the property line goes right down the middle of the driveway and that wall in the garage, or somebody has an easement.
