If something you bought drops in price after purchase, you can often get the difference back just by asking. Most people have no idea this exists.
The windows vary by retailer:
- Target – 14 days
- Best Buy – 15 days
- Costco – 30 days
- Walmart – 7 days
- Nordstrom – 14 days
You just contact customer service, show your receipt, and they refund the difference. No returning the item, no hassle.
I started manually tracking my purchases a few weeks ago and already recovered $23 on a Best Buy order I'd forgotten about. The hard part is just remembering to check. You have to catch it before the window closes.
Has anyone here made a habit of doing this? Any tips for tracking it without it becoming a second job or any other tips for specific retailers?
Most major retailers have price adjustment policies and almost nobody uses them. Here's what I learned tracking mine manually
