WTI Crude is up 3% instantly, Brent Crude up 4% instantly. Is this in response to the Trump speech that indicates the war is continuing, or do such rises indicate something more fundamental? I feel like the oil prices have been a pretty good indicator of the market, in the last two days it has been going down, and the market was up to everybody surprise, because everybody was thinking they were reacting to the false information Trump has spewing and it could partially be, but I think it was also because of oil prices going down, but I don't know, I would really like someone who understands how normal such effects are to chime in, please.

Edit 4% and 5% respectively they're continuing to rise quickly.

Quick rise in crude oil prices, in response to Trump speech or something else?

    1. Maybe a lot of people thought he’d announce an exit plan or something new with this speech. Instead it was everything he said the past few days… Again

US currency and all major indexes are dropping over 0.6 precent this is not good. (Currency is only down like .25 while commodities are down at least 2.5 precent)

    3. i guess market was hoping trump says “we’re done here guys, pulling out entirely and reached a deal to open Hormuz”

instead it was “we’re gonna bomb iran into the stone age folks.”

    4. People were hoping that Trump would articulate a clear exit strategy, but he just repeated what he’s been saying since the war started.

Who the fuck thought this war was .magically over because the regard president said so? Iran is more trustworthy than whatever bullshit comes out of trumps mouth.

He started talking about how long ww1, ww2, and other wars were and comparing them to how long we are in Iran currently. That to me is him saying we gonna be in this conflict for a while

    7. Trump blew this up like it was a huge announcement and then said nothing…

Why? Looks like bait to me. I think in a country with the internet turned off, the boogiemen are looking to see who’s important enough to be using the internet to watch his speech.

What does that mean for the conflict? Escalation. Buy and Sell with caution.

They had probably priced in a ceasefire. Since it didn’t happen, prices are reverting to reflect risk

The orange douche bag apparently said something about hitting Iran hard the next two or three weeks, so obviously no relief for oil.
I am so getting tired of him claiming to hit Iran hard. What the fuck has he been doing all this time? Hitting them softly?

Bro things go up, they go down. Trust in your own process and instinct. Learn from mistakes and attempt to not do them again.

To be like “AHHH SPIKE ON TEH 1 MIN, WHAT MEAN” is like, I just shook a soda and it sprayed me in the face, WHAT MEAN.

If youre scalping, then sure – whatever. But if youre also betting on what trump says for mid-term, youre running a fool errand.

Perhaps just play by the day by day, watch your own trend lines, and invest accordingly. OR just DCA and go about your business and joy your life, check in in 20ish years.

The fat fuck Trump didn’t provide any pathway to ending it just rehearsed his lines from DUI hegseth so yeah the price of oil spiked.

      Yes. Because of his speech..

Here’s a short summary of Trumps address to the nation regarding Iran tonight:

He basically just reiterated a thousand times how they’ve decimated Iran, the likes no one’s ever seen before, the American military is the best the world has ever known, the American economy is the greatest it’s ever been and that they’ve achieved almost all of their military goals in Iran and it will be over “very shortly”. He also stated how the stock market was the highest it’s ever been and that it will return to those highs and go even higher when all is said and done and that it hasn’t even gone down as much as he expected it too, but they had to take this short necessary journey to Iran to eliminate the nuclear threat. He outlined how he’s not worried about the Strait and that it will inevitably reopen naturally after the US withdrawals and he encouraged other nations to go “take it” if they want their oil.

He then went on to say they’re going to hit Iran extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. Stating “We’re going to bring them back to the stone ages where they belong” and said said if they don’t come to a deal by the end of the two to three weeks that they are going to hit key targets, like power plants and other facilities.

      Well he did say
      1. We don’t care about their oil  instead of my favorite thing is..

      2. EU countries if you are suffering that much go and take it or buy ours

      3. And finally the most important he didn’t say as we speak our brave marines are swimming closer to Kharg island
So he is happy to bring Iran back to stone age from distance and I guess in this context that’s a positive

But stocks were high on some unsubstantiated hopium to the point that no immediate resolution/ not enough positive news somehow is a negative..

    14. Quick summary of the Trump speech:

We’ve won but aren’t leaving for weeks.

We wanted regime change but now we don’t. Or it happened. Or we never said we wanted regime change.

We destroyed their nuclear capabilities but they still have uranium.

The Strait of Hormuz was opened before the war and now it’s not, but that isn’t my fault or responsibility.

We destroyed their ability to fire missiles, but they are still firing missiles.

We won but we can’t leave.

Hall of fame AI slop, OP if you’re this braindead and an actual human, don’t procreate.

Makes sense. Oil routes aren’t going to magically open up anytime soon.

I was in oil a few days ago and sold for 20% losss around 7k and I bought in market and made some back but sold for profit to see what he’d say. I believe his buddies loaded loaded up on oil knowing this because now oil is sky rocketing and the stocks are skyrocketing too so this was just manipulation and oil stocks are in again
