I have 2 credit cards, one through my bank and one through capital one. The capital one is my longest open account (4 years) so I really don’t want to close it. But, I get a much better APR on the card through my bank. I was 18 when I got the capital one card and they gave me an insanely high limit for someone with no credit, so maybe that’s why the interest is so high. I have never missed a payment on any accounts so maybe that helps my case? Just looking to see if anyone who has been successful negotiating a lower APR especially with capital one has tips.
Any tips on negotiating a lower APR?

I would look for a credit consolidation loan from one of your local credit unions. Shop around look for the best rates before you apply. You’ll get a lower APR than the credit and it should help your credit score after the hard pulls roll off (6mo to 1yr from appl) since that’s considered a more responsible form of borrowing.
