- Chase Aeroplan (85k offer, plan to cancel after 12 months)
- Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless (5 FNC offer, plan to downgrade to $0 AF)
- Bank of America Atmos Ascent (85k offer)
- Capital One Venture (Tried pre-approval, but Venture/Venture X didn't show up)
- Amex Gold: Approved for 60K (bypassed lifetime language), but declined offer. The credits don't fit my spend.
- Citi Custom Cash: Not in the Citi ecosystem. Adding a $95 AF card later just to transfer points seems like a hassle
I used to be super active in the credit card game a few years ago but got burnt out/it became too much to think about.
I try to live a low spend lifestyle right now.
I don't prefer points tied to a specific airline/hotel. I am mostly looking at the Aeroplan, Marriott, since I am at 3/24.
But are there any better cards that I'm completely missing? Open to any and all recommendations!
Card Recs. 3/24, what to get next ?

damn you’ve got a solid setup already. with 3/24 and that income, the aeroplan card makes total sense for the signup bonus especially if you’re planning to cancel anyway. i grabbed that one last year and the points transferred to united pretty easily when i needed them.
looking at your spend though, you might want to consider the chase ink business preferred if you change your mind about biz cards. i know you said no business cards but hear me out – the 80k signup bonus is nice and you can use it for that rent payment since most landlords code as “other services.” plus it wouldn’t count toward 5/24. i’ve been using mine for random stuff that doesn’t fit other categories and it’s been pretty hands off.
the marriott bonvoy boundless is decent too but those free night certs can be annoying to use sometimes. found myself sitting on them for months trying to find availability. if you do go that route, definitely downgrade after year one like you planned since the annual free night isn’t usually worth the fee.
