Can anyone explain the difference between these two benchmarks?
Is it just that Oman is a future and Dubai is the delivery?
What are they used to forecast or price in the real world?
Dubai is currently $10 more.
Edit: I am talking about the CME benchmarks, not just crude from Dubai / Oman
Which I believe is different than Murban.

Oman wouldn’t need to go through the straight, where Dubai would. I don’t know that that explains it, but it’s probably a reasonable guess.
