Hola folks, Wanted to sanity check my setup because I feel like I might be overthinking this a bit.

I’ve got a few cards right now:

    • Amex Blue Cash Everyday
    • Chase Freedom Unlimited
    • Chase Sapphire Preferred
    • BofA Travel Rewards Card
    • Fidelity Rewards Visa Card

I pretty much put all my spending on cards and pay everything off in full every month. Current credit score is ~793 from Vantage score. My main expenses are groceries, dining, gas, random online shopping, and some travel here and there (flights, hotels, rental cars).

Right now I’m using them like this:

    • Amex – groceries, gas, online shopping
    • Freedom Unlimited – dining
    • Sapphire – travel + rental cars
    • Fidelity – everything else
    • BofA – mostly just sitting there / backup

    Rough monthly spend:

    • Groceries: ~$300
    • Dining: ~$150–200
    • Gas: ~$350
    • Travel: ~$1,000 (usually one trip per quarter)
    • Other: ~$250 (miscellaneous)

Does this setup make sense or am I missing something obvious? Also debating whether I should just keep it simple and focus on cashback (Amex + Fidelity) or lean more into Chase points with CFU + Sapphire.

Not really looking to churn cards or anything crazy, just want a clean setup that gives good value. Would you change anything here? Or add/remove any card?

Appreciate any input 🙏, Thanks in advance!

Am I using my credit cards right or overthinking this?

Goal is too broad. That’s the reason you seem aimless. Narrow down your goal.

Makes sense if you’re using the Sapphire Preferred’s two credits at least. Are you using transfer partners or do you mainly just keep the CSP around for the travel protections?

As long as you continue to do this, you are fine.
