When will my new payment come into effect after recertification?

Hi all,
I’ve seen mixed answers online and was hoping someone could clarify this for me.

My federal student loan recertification date is 5/28/26, and my loan service provider (Edfinancial) asked me to recertify my income by 4/23/26, which I’ve already completed.

When would my new payment amount take effect? Will it apply starting on 5/28, or will it be reflected in the billing cycle after that?
