My landlord had the water heater replaced in the house that I rent a unit in. My unit has a carpeted basement area. The old water heater leaked on the way out, which cause mold to creep into my unit and into a cabinet in which I stored an old laptop.
The laptop was too damaged by moisture and mold to turn on.
Should my landlord cover this or should I make a claim on my water damage renters insurance?
