Wassup guys, my father served in the Marines in the 70s for 4 years. After he got out, he never really looked into any school benefits that might’ve been available to him. Now I’m in school, and I’m wondering if there are any benefits I could qualify for as his son.

FAFSA is not enough for me right now, especially with bills piling up. My dad is retired and barely makes much, so I’m really trying to find anything that could help. Do you guys know if there are any programs, benefits, or resources I should look into?

    1. Is he 100% service-connected disabled? There are federal and state (varies by state) benefits there if so. If not, though, I think you’re out of luck.

Edit: You have to be under 26 to qualify for that. Go to the VA Education Benefits portal. Additionally, there are scholarships for children of veterans (have to upload his DD-214) too. Various amounts given by various orgs…need to Google for it or look on scholarship aggregation sites.
