What if every home in the world with electricity had a 6 TH/s miner plugged in or a 200 TH/s the same way every home has a bathroom or shower? How would that level of universal mining power affect block discovery and ultimately the future of Bitcoin itself?

Solo miner vs. mining farms… is it really anybody’s game?

    1. It would be irrelevant. The difficulty gets adjusted every x blocks (aprox every two weeks) so even if you somehow connected all those machines at the same time and mine 2 weeks worth of coins in seconds, the next batch will take 10 minutes per block, like always.

    2. The network difficulty would increase as much as the hashrate to keep averaging the 10 minutes each block, so everyone would have less odds to mine a block.

Now talking about the future of bitcoin in this situation is impossible to say, just like is impossible to say about the future of bitcoin now.
