I tried Monarch and Copilot Money and they can both categorize transactions, but for some reason there's no straightforward way to say "hey, break down the spending on this card by categories for this statement period" to make it easier to pay. I budget using "Vaults" (that's what SoFi calls them but other banks have the same idea with different name), so it would make sense for me to know at the end of a statement period how much money to take from each vault to pay a card.
Monarch let me filter using a custom range for a card, but it wouldn't add up all the categories to give me one single value by category. Copilot Money didn't even let me filter by custom date range.
If I'll pay for an app, and these two aren't free or cheap, it better get rid of all manual work. Doing this manually is so painful, especially when you have multiple credit cards and sometimes some expenses overlap between cards.
What apps do you use to break down credit card statement by category?

Can you clarify what you mean by Monarch won’t “add up all the categories”? I use it and as far as I can tell it should solve your issue exactly as you describe in the Cash Flow view.
mint was pretty good for this before they shut it down. you could filter by date range and card then see category totals at bottom.
i’ve been using ynab since then and it does what you want – you can run reports for specific cards in custom date ranges and it’ll give you the breakdown by category with totals. it’s not free but way better than doing the math manually across multiple cards.
You are describing YNAB! Check it out they have a 34 day free trial, i use it to manage my 20 cards
