I got into dental school which starts in mid July. I only have one in my state which I didn't get into, so I got into one out of state in Alabama (I live in Georgia). It costs 80k a year. I am getting 50k in federal loans a year and a 10k scholarship per year. This leaves a 20k difference. I dont think I have any other choice but to take out private loans after trump changed up federal loans. The thing is everyone says not to take out private loans however this is no longer a reality after what trump did to the Grad Plus program. I'm a child of immigrants and worked so hard to get into dental school. My tuition for undergrad was not only free, but I got money back which made my living expense free. I feel like I did everything right, yet am screwed here. I can't not go to dental school this will make the difference between lifetime poverty or financial freedom for me.
