Looking for some insights!

I have a couple one shot miners, and am beginning to look into mining on a personal machine. I was curious to hear what components are common, what are minimal needs, what is the return day to day of mining?

What factors affect my machines ability to mine and produce BTC, and how have others found ways to optimize the process?? Thank you for all that read and comment, I really appreciate any help at all.
